Powerballers tryouts will be Nov. 11 and 12. Students may pick either date, and only one tryout is required.

10-12U is planned for 9-11 a.m.; 13-14U is set for 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; and 15-17U is scheduled for 2-4 p.m.

Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education will next meet 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, 4500 Education Park, Schnecksville.

Sheckler Elementary’s Thanksgiving dinner is scheduled for Nov. 16.

Catasauqua Area School District’s Catasauqua Community Cares Program is collecting new and gently used coats, hats and gloves for its Nov. 18 distribution. Any donations can be dropped off 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the district office.

All sizes are welcome, and monetary donations are also accepted, by checks made payable to CASD/C3P.

Help CASD break its record last year of more than 150 coats!

CASD has won the EVERFIK12 Empowered Seal Award for the third year in a row. CASD is one of the 10% of school districts to be given this honor.

EVERFIK is used to teach students about bullying, substance abuse and building healthy relationships.

Sheckler is looking for a noncertified instructional aide for a yearly 191-day position.

The aide will support and assist the academic, behavioral, emotional and physical needs of students in both regular and special education classrooms.
