Leo Raymond Witczak

Leo Raymond Witczak, 98, of Fullerton, died Oct. 27, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Turbedsky) Witczak for 66 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Czyzewska) Witczak.

He attended Our Lady Help of Christians Grade School and Allentown Catholic High School. He was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School. He studied electrical engineering at Lehigh University.

He was in the U.S. Army in the 787th Military Police Battalion and the 75th Combat Infantry division. He spent 18 months in the European Theater during World War II. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal and letters of commendation. Legally blind in one eye since childhood, he was a certified sharpshooter.

He worked in electrical engineering at PPL Electric, Fuller Company and Riegel Paper Corporation and retired from Allen Products.

He was a member of and a lector at Sts. Peter and Paul Polish Catholic Church, Allentown.

He is survived by a daughter, Dr. Loretta Witczak Keil and husband Bruce of Allentown; two sons, Jesse of Maryland and Joseph and wife Charlene of Washington; eight grandchildren, Bonni Taylor with Sache, Deanna Keil with Adrian, Garrett, Alyssa Bistline with Chris, Lynea Oldfather with William, Michael Nelson, Devon and Christopher; four great-grandchildren, Ryder, Leo, Kai and Cole expected soon; a sister-in-law, Betty Turbedsky and her children Paul and Michelle; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by nine siblings; a grandson-in-law, Daniel Carik; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela.

There will be a calling time 7:30-9:30 a.m. Nov. 2 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.
