BASD SCHOOLS CLOSED ON NOV. 7, ELECTION DAY: All BASD schools will be closed Nov. 7. ALL HS and MS will have a three-hour delayed opening Nov. 8.
BASD STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Jenilka Bestabe Martinez Rondon is in Grade 1 at William Penn ES. Jenilka is eager to learn, loves to participate and never hesitates to help her classmates. She is always smiling and her laugh is contagious. She is already demonstrating leadership qualities.
BASD STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Connie VanBlargan is an ESOL teacher at William Penn ES. Ms. VanBlargan is exceptional and a pillar for student achievement and social growth. She is an attentive teacher to her students and their families. She is truly invested in their future. Ms. VanBlargan has created an after-school program for adults who want to learn English.
BASD ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Joanne Garcia graduated Liberty HS in 2005. Joanne is currently the Education Coordinator for ArtsQuest. Joanne is BASD Proud to have attended Broughal MS and Liberty HS and to be working in the Bethlehem community.

LIBERTY THEATRE PRESENTS RADIUM GIRLS: The Liberty HS Theatre will present the play about the young women who painted luminous dial watches in the 1920s, until the workers began to fall ill with radium sickness, and their fight for justice.
