Blessing our furry friends

The First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem was host to an assortment of flighty felines, courageous canines and precocious pups at its fifth annual Blessing of the Animals Oct. 1. Pets and their owners arrived at 3 p.m. and orderly assembled for individual pet blessings given by several of the church lay pastors and deacons. Participants donated varied pet foods and supplies that will be given to the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley. Each blessed animal received a certificate authenticating the event.
