David C. Diehl, 85, of Kempton, died on Oct. 14, 2023, at home.
He and his wife, Kathleen M. (Kriebel) Diehl, were married 63 years in May.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Chester and Gladys (Fretz) Diehl.
He earned a degree in agriculture from Penn State University.
He loved farming and reading about the Civil War, and treasured time spent with family.
As he wished, he died with his boots on while working on the family farm in Lynn Township.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by children David (Shelly) Bimler of Harrisburg, Rose (Dave) Santeusanio of Hummelstown, Randy (Serena) Diehl of Rustburg, Va., Dax (Sue Ellen) Diehl at home, and Joseph Diehl, at home; grandchildren Kirsten (Mark), Jana (Ryan), William, Andrew (Kirby), Adam, Josh, Katelyn, Deanna and Cayleigh; brothers Donald (Laura) of Forest, Va., and Bob (Debbie) of Hot Springs, Va.; five great-grandchildren and two nephews.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter Ashley.
His service will be private.
