Liberty’s path in the District 11 field hockey tournament won’t be easy, as the Hurricanes were the last seed to qualify in the seven team bracket.
With top-seeded Emmaus getting a first round bye at the top of the bracket, Liberty opens up play on Thursday against second-seeded Easton (17-3).
The two teams met in the second game of the regular season, ending in a 9-0 win by the Rovers. Liberty has struggled in the second half of the season, dropping eight of their last nine games, including a 9-0 loss to Emmaus in the EPC playoffs.
Easton ran their way through the league tournament, but ultimately fell to Emmaus 5-0 in the championship.
The winner of the Easton-Liberty showdown will take on either third-seeded Parkland or sixth-seeded Stroudsburg.
In the top half of the bracket, Emmaus will meet the winner of the four-five matchup between Nazareth and Northampton.
