Walter C. Holtzhafer, 77, of Emmaus, died in his home Oct. 15, 2023. He was the dedicated and loving husband of Marjo M. (Folk) Holtzhafer. They would have observed 58 years of marriage this December. Born in Lower Macungie Township, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Helen C. (Meitzler) Holtzhafer.
He graduated from Emmaus High School, Class of 1964.
He proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
For 35 years, he worked as a rigger as one of the last employees of Bethlehem Steel. After retirement, he continued to work for A & S HVAC in Bath for 21 years.
He was a member of St. John’s UCC, Emmaus.
His passion for service to others was evident through his long-standing membership and role as president of the Lower Lehigh Lions Club.
He found joy in driving any vehicle, but mostly his restored ‘67 Bronco, his ‘63 Corvette Stingray convertible and his Jeep. He was an avid collector of Donald Duck items, loved his weekends with Marjo browsing through Jake’s Flea Market, and most importantly, spending time with his grandsons whom he loved so dearly. His work ethic and dedication to family were unwavering.
He is survived by his wife; son, Brian and his wife, Jenae; grandsons, Addison and Weston. He was predeceased by brothers, Henry and Kenneth.
