Mary Jane Welliver

Mary Jane “MJ” Welliver, 72, of Whitehall, died Oct. 15, 2023, in her residence. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late R. Alexander and E. Jane (Bauer) Dickel.

She graduated from Olney High School in 1968 and earned her associate degree from the Community College of Philadelphia in 1970.

She worked as an administrative assistant for Plantique, Inc. until she retired. She also worked as an independent home consultant at Longaberger.

She was a creative woman who loved to work on crafts of many kinds. Her most recent craft hobbies included crocheting and making beautiful handmade fabric quilted Christmas ornaments.

She had a unique love for LEGO® and enjoyed building with her father before his death and with her grandchildren.

She attended Faith Church, Allentown, Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, Allentown and St. Matthew’s ECC, Emmaus.

She is survived by sons, Scott and his wife, Michelle, Paul and his wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Chase, Savannah, Hope, Leah, Brooke; brother, Alan Dickel and his wife, Joni; stepsisters, Merrie Coates, Marleen Heintz; dear girlfriends who were like family.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church, Wescosville, 1208 Brookside Road, Allentown, 18106, 3 p.m. Nov. 26. Please wear her favorite color, purple, to the service. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
