To the Editor:
Robert Zakos should be considered by residents as a write-in candidate for Catasauqua Borough Council. He unfortunately was cut from being on the November ballot due to votes lost toward RINOs in the Republican primary.
In the opinion of many Catasauqua residents, the current slate of candidates running for council appears to be individuals who have self-serving interests and only want to advance their own agendas.
Zakos is a true community-oriented resident of Catasauqua. He knows tax money should be spent back on the whole community and not for projects that will benefit only a small portion of our town as well as profit-specific individuals.
The current council has decided to mothball the public pool, regardless of a recently reported windfall of funds from the astronomical property tax hike placed upon us this year. Also, fluoride is scheduled to be removed from our drinking water, even after the water rates were hiked.
When taxes go up, residents should not have public services reduced or taken away from them. Zakos gets that. The other candidates and incumbents do not.
On Nov. 7, write in Robert Zakos on your ballot for Catasauqua Borough Council!
