Lehigh Township: Historical walk set for Nov. 4

Lehigh Township Rails to Trails will conduct a walk around Slatington Nov. 4, beginning 1 p.m. The meeting place is the Slatington Trailhead.

Local historian Dave Altrichter will be providing commentary during the walk, pointing out the locations of former buildings and the remaining structures that are part of Slatington’s history. Included in the walk will be climbing the 100 steps, a set of concrete steps connecting the lower and upper areas of town. The length of the walk will be about 1.5 miles and will include changes in elevation.

The rain date is set for Nov. 11.

Although the walk is free, registration is required. Call or text Nancy at 484-330-9627 or Dean at 610-462-0617, and leave your name and cell/home number.
