Betty L. Genovese, 72, of Northampton, died Oct. 14, 2023, while at Bethlehem South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Frances (Smith) Ruch.
She was a 1969 Northampton High School graduate.
She was a customer service representative for the former Merchant’s Bank where she was teller of the month. She was most recently a dispatcher for PPL Electric for 24 years until she retired in 2016.
She was a member and treasurer of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Howertown.
She and her three sisters, known as the 4Bs, co-authored the “Ruch the Cook” cookbook.
She is survived by a son, Todd; three grandchildren, Alex, Thomas and Chanaya; a great-granddaughter, Adilynn; three sisters, Barbara Christman and husband Richard of Cherryville, Bonnie Herzog of Northampton and Beatrice Christoff and husband Stanley; a niece, Lori and husband Scott; four nephews, Chad, Brian and companion Erin, David and wife Mandy and John; a great-niece, Shelby; and five great-nephews, Dylan, Blake, Aiden, Landon and Logan.
She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Donald Herzog; and a niece, Veronica Fabian.
There will be a calling hour 10-11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service 11 a.m., Oct. 28 at the church, 22 Atlas Road, Northampton, 18067.
