Wilmer “Bucky” Charles Buck, 94, of Walnutport, died Oct. 8, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Bushkill Township, he was a son of the late Steward and Isabella (Neff) Buck. He was a stepson of the late Cora (Green) Buck.
He was a private first class in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1948.
He was a truck driver for GTS Trucking, Lehighton, for more than 30 years until he retired. He then worked for Laidlaw/First Student Transportation, Beersville, for more than 22 years. He drove buses for Northampton Area School District students. He was recognized for 1,000,000 miles of safe driving.
He coached Little League Baseball for Moore and Lehigh townships’ athletic associations. He was a member of Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association, Walnutport, and a life member of Local Union 773.
He is survived by a son, Wayne with Penny of Coudersport; three daughters, Sharon Silfies with Richard of Nazareth, Wendy Kleintop with Wayne of Walnutport and Stacey DiMenichi with Richard of Northampton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Henry “Bud” Neeb of Lehighton.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Richard; and a sister, Bonnie Neeb.
