Michael F. “Pappy” Sarko, 85, of Salisbury Township, died peacefully Sept. 16, 2023, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Shirley M. (Gottwald) Sarko. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Mary (Zednik) Sarko.

He honorably served his country in the United States Marines.

He worked as a mail carrier for over 35 years for the United States Postal Service, until retirement.

He was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church, Fountain Hill and a lifetime member of the Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Company and the Jefferson Democratic Club.

He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Darlene Bauer and her husband, Robert, of Bethlehem; brother, Ronald M., of Macungie; grandchildren, Robert Bauer Jr. and his wife, Tanya, Kristy Cressman and her husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Avery, Jakob and Parker.
