Household hazardous waste collection Nov. 18
Lehigh County will host a household hazardous waste collection and recycling event 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at Coca-Cola Park, 1050 IronPigs Way, Allentown.
The event is for county residents only.
Items will not be accepted from commercial entities.
No 55-gallon drums will be accepted nor more than 200 pounds of eligible items.
Lehigh County residents may bring the following for collection and recycling: acid, automotive paints and finishes, button batteries, disinfectants, drain cleaner, driveway sealant, flammable liquids, floor and furniture polish, fluorescent bulbs, fungicide, gasoline (5 gallon limit), herbicide, lithium and NiCad batteries, motor oil, oil-based paint, oven cleaner, paint thinners, pesticides, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, rug cleaner, solvents, stains, transmission oil, turpentine, varnishes, weed killer and wood preservatives.
The following items will not be accepted: asphalt, concrete/concrete mix, electronic waste, explosives/ammunition, gas cylinders, infectious/medical waste, joint/caulking compound, latex paint, organic peroxides, prescription drugs, radioactive waste and water-based sealants.
