Hans Peter Doskozil, the governor of Burgenland, Austria, and other Austrian governmental representatives will be visiting the Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., 7 p.m. Oct. 20.

All local descendants of Burgenland, Austria, or anyone interested in the visit, are invited to come and meet the visitors. Doskozil wants to meet Lehigh Valley Burgenlander descendants.

There will be music, singing, snacks and homemade baked goods. There is no charge for the event, and it is open to all.

Redeemed Christian Church of God, 5 N. Third St., is holding PraiseFest 2 p.m. Oct. 21 and 11 a.m. Oct. 22.

According to the church, it is the “biggest African celebration in the Lehigh Valley.” This is a free event.

St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold a shepherd’s pie drive-thru dinner 4-5:30 p.m. Oct. 28.

The menu includes shepherd’s pie, creamed cabbage, applesauce or fruit cup, roll and dessert.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is planning to hold a youth Halloween party 9 a.m. Oct. 29 in the social hall.

Learn how Halloween traditions grew, sing pumpkin-themed songs, play fun games, make a craft and have snacks.

The event is open to Sunday school members and their friends, no matter if they are church members or not.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.
