The Emmaus Historical Society will offer a program at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 7 p.m. Andrew Kerstetter, board member of the Emmaus Historical Society, will present “Vintage Postcards from Emaus Past, Cards Before Hallmark.” The presentation will showcase postcards from the Emmaus Historical Society collection with photos of local landmarks, business establishments and citizens of Emaus. Postcards gained popularity as greeting cards in the first 30 years of the 20th century, which is the era of most of the postcards featured during this program. Programs are free to the public. Refreshments and snacks are served after the program.

Oct. 22

Upper Milford residents, especially those in the Zionsville area of the township, are welcome to Light the Night 4-6 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St. The event will feature games, prizes and a free hot dog meal.

The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., will host a fall fest, trunk or treat, 1-2:30 p.m. in the lower parking lot. Crafts, games, activities, music, hot dogs and S’mores are planned. All are welcome.

Mike Jesberger, historical re-enactor and lecturer, will present the program “True Story of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman” 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Kalmbach Park, 200 Cotton St., Macungie. Seating is limited. Visit the website kalmbachpark.com for details.

The Upper Milford Youth Association, will host a Halloween Trick or Treat-Fun at the Park event at Lenape Park, 6102 Kings Highway South, Zionsville, starting 3 p.m. Highlights will include a decorating contest, a 50/50 raffle, games, food and prizes.

The Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie, will host a wine and cheese gathering 6:30 p.m. There is a cost for tickets and space is limited. Tickets are available at the institute 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Ticket purchase is by check only.

Nov. 4

Lehigh Valley Health Network will host a free community drive-thru flu shot clinic 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, 4000 Dorney Park Road, Allentown. Donations also will be accepted to help those in need. Acceptable donations include diapers, toiletries and nonperishable unexpired food items. Old Zionsville United Church of Christ, 5981 Fountain Road, Old Zionsville, will hold its 26th annual Bazaar & Filled Basket Auction 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come browse through the crafters and vendors, check out the auction baskets and buy tickets for a chance to win your favorite baskets And remember to check out the bake sale. Light refreshments will be for sale for takeout.

Nov. 18

Lehigh County will host a household hazardous waste collection and recycling event 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Coca-Cola Park, 1050 IronPigs Way, Allentown. The event is for county residents only. No commercial items will be accepted from commercial entities. No 55-gallon drums will be accepted.
