Catasauqua: St. Mary’s plans Oktoberfest
St. Mary’s Church, 122 Union St., will hold its seventh annual Oktoberfest Oct. 21.
There will be vendors and music, and the church will sell hot dogs, hamburgers, pierogies, fries, beer, soda and water 11 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be a cornhole tournament starting noon.
A German Mass with a polka flair featuring Robbie Lawrence and the Steelworkers and the church choir starts 4 p.m.
The band will continue playing in the parish center, and the church will sell German food such as schnitzel, spaetzle, brats, Oktoberfest beers and more 5-9 p.m.
There is no entrance fee. No outside food or drinks are permitted.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., West Catasauqua, will be holding bingo Oct. 22. The start time is 1 p.m., with doors opening noon.
Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc. There will be refreshments available for purchase.
Bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry.

Trick-or-treat night in Catasauqua and North Catasauqua boroughs is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28. The rain date is set for Oct. 29.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., is organizing a mini-mission to benefit the ongoing needs of the people of Maui, Hawaii.
The island was devastated by fires during the summer. The church invites the Catasauqua community to join its mission to benefit the Maui Food Bank.
Donations will be taken through Oct. 31. You can leave an online donation at tinyurl.com/Maui-Relief-Mission.
