Barbara P. Ritter, 82, of Macungie, died peacefully Oct. 14, 2023, in her residence. She was the loving wife of Robert L. Ritter for 59 years. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Kloiber) Kelchner.

She worked as a secretary for the East Penn School District, mostly at Eyer Middle School for 44 years, retiring in 2003.

She was an active member of Solomon’s U.C.C., Macungie, charter member of Macungie Institute, life member of Macungie Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, was active with the Macungie Flower Park for many years and was a founder and coach for Macungie softball.

She is survived by her husband; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and his wife, Phyllis, of Vera Cruz, Susan and her husband, Stephen Sayers, of Wisconsin, Patricia, of Schnecksville; nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Bieber.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 20 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St, Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 20 in the funeral home.
