ACCHS Class of 2013 reunion Nov. 24

This is a reminder to all students and parents the first quarter ends Nov. 3 and the second quarter will begin Nov. 6. Mid-quarter grades were up-to-date as of Oct. 5 and any student with a grade of 75 or below was issued a progress report.

Parents and students may access progress reports through Sapphire, by clicking the progress reports folder on the left side of the main page below report cards.

Questions or concerns about grades should be directed to the student’s teacher, whose email addresses are posted on Sapphire class pages or at www.acchs.info/staff-directory.

Allentown Central Catholic High School offers numerous tutoring chances for struggling students.

The National Honor Society tutors 7:45-8:15 a.m. every morning in the media center and also during every lunch period at the homework help table.

Math tutoring is also available during every extended homeroom schedule and students from DeSales University tutor at Central 2:50-4 p.m. every Thursday.

You may view teachers’ office hours on their class pages in Sapphire and meetings may be in-person, via Zoom, or by appointment.

The Vikings 4 Gold Club will host a fundraiser at the Udder Bar 6-9:30 p.m., Oct. 18. The event will support the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.

The club is also holding a trunk-or-treat for patients and their families 1-3 p.m. Oct. 22 in the PCFLV parking lot, 2132 S. 12th St., Allentown. Volunteer by bringing your car or helping out and visit the vikings4gold Instagram page for sign-up information.

The first Central open house this year will occur 2-4 p.m. Nov. 12. Anyone who registers their child for the 2024-2025 school year will receive $200 off the application fee.

Attendees of the open house will tour the school, meet the administration and students and discover all the clubs and sports Central offers.

The ACCHS Class of 2013 will meet for its 10-year reunion 7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Sports and Social, 645 Hamilton St., Allentown. The night will include a 3-hour open bar and one hour of unlimited appetizers. RSVP to Shannon, preferably through text, at 484-809-1783.

Help support Viking baseball through their Krispy Kreme fundraiser. Place your order through https://acchsbaseball.company.site/ by Nov. 7. You may pick up your doughnuts during Viking Christmas Nov. 12 or at dismissal (2:50 p.m.) Nov. 13.

This fundraiser will help the JV and varsity baseball teams cover the expenses of equipment, indoor training spaces and travel costs.

The ACCHS Vikette basketball team recently opened their online spirit store so fans may purchase ACCHS basketball apparel. The store closes Oct. 26 so all orders must be placed before then. Visit https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/zZzqyMA7Pa to submit an order.

All athletes may now register for winter sports until Nov. 16.

To participate in the first day of practice, a current Family ID registration is necessary and athletes must also receive an official Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. physical completed after June 1. These requirements must be fulfilled before Nov. 16.

All athletes must also complete an impact test every two years to participate in athletics.

An ACCHS Blue Mountain Ski Club is looking for interested students to form a group at Blue Mountain. Discounted ski passes will be available for group members and may be used any time all season (in accordance with the type of pass you purchased).

The group also plans to meet at certain times from mid-January through early March 2024.

The next booster club meeting will be 7 p.m. Nov. 8 in the school’s media center. The booster club would like to see some new members, so all are encouraged to attend.

The next meetings will be Feb. 7, 2024 and April 3, 2024 (same time and place).

The club’s end-of-year celebration will take place 7 p.m. May 8, 2024 at a to be determined location.

Central will host a free financial aid event 6 p.m. Nov. 2. The school is partnering with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency to provide information about the updated Free Application for Federal Student Aid, financial aid applications, grants, federal student and parent loans and Pennsylvania-specific aid programs.

Many athletic opportunities are available for aspiring Vikings and Vikettes.

All seventh and eighth grade partner school girls are invited to open gyms 3-5 p.m. Oct. 19, 24 and 26 in Rockne Hall. Email Coach Davidowich for more details at kdavidowich@acchs.info.

The football team will play its last regular season game against Bethlehem Catholic Oct. 27 at J. Birney Crum Stadium, 2027 Linden St., Allentown and will celebrate many members of the Viking family. The night will honor all senior football players and band and color guard members 7 p.m.

The ACCHS ‘93 and ‘98 football state championship teams will also hold a celebration to honor their 30th and 25th anniversaries.

All players and coaches who wish to come to the game should RSVP to alumni@acchs.info. Please submit your name, graduation year and football number in your RSVP by Oct. 26 to reserve your game pass. A gathering will follow the game at the Jordan AC.

After a spectacular performance of “Godspell: 2012 Revised Version” last spring, the Central Catholic Theatre Department is excited to announce Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella (Enchanted Edition)” as its 2024 musical. Mark your calendars for their performances April 4, 5 and 6, 2024.
