The Salisbury field hockey team achieved one of its goals for the 2023 season, while coming very close to notching another of its objectives.
The Falcons fell short of qualifying for the Colonial League playoffs but do have a spot in the District 11 playoffs. Six teams qualify for the league playoffs and the Falcons finished the season seventh in the league with a 6-6-2 league mark, leaving them just behind Moravian Academy (7-6-1).
Salisbury finished the season with an 8-8-2 overall record.
The Falcons went 0-2-1 in their final three games, playing to a scoreless tie against Pen Argyl before falling to Wilson in a 2-1 game and then dropping their season finale to Southern Lehigh 6-0.
In the 2A classification for districts, Southern Lehigh and Bangor have both qualified and the final spot will go to either Whitehall or East Stroudsburg South. Unfortunately for the Falcons, they would most likely have to face Southern Lehigh in the opening round of play. The Spartans defeated Salisbury in both of their regular season meetings by a combined score of 8-0.
On the season, Salisbury outscored its opponents 33-28.
