Are you considering joining or currently serving on a nonprofit board and want to become a more informed participant? Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is offering LEAD Now, a 5-part leadership training program that provides relevant guidance on nonprofit board service. Each of the five sessions is a stand-alone session. This program is virtual and each class time is 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 10 through Nov. 7. Register at www.volunteerlv.org/LEAD-Now. Keep Oktoberfest guests hydrated with one of the widest-ranging selections of beer in the Lehigh Valley. Hosted by ArtsQuest, you can listen to traditional music and meet new people as you fill signature Oktoberfest mugs and check guest IDs. Shifts available include 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 13-15. As one of Pennsylvania’s largest nursing homes, Gracedale is always buzzing with activity. Volunteers assist residents with in-house appointments including clinics and beauty shop. Opportunities available between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday. Flexible scheduling. Background check and training required. All volunteers must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Join PBS39 & 91.3 WLVR 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14 for family day at Zoellner Arts Center. There will be free activities, crafts, treats and more. Volunteers are needed to help set up, engage with families during the event and clean up at the end. Free PA child abuse and criminal record clearance required. The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, Easton, is looking for volunteers who can pick up donations Thursday mornings (using their truck) and then drive back to CAHW to help unload the truck. Wildlands Conservancy will plant 700 native trees and shrubs in Saucon Park Oct. 12. Two shifts are available: 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. They will plant in pre-dug holes, stake the trees and install tree tubes and weed mats, so there are a variety of activities to suit ability levels.
