Accident
A teen motorist, of Massachusetts, and her two teen passengers escaped injury when their vehicle crashed into a center concrete traffic barrier along Interstate 78 West in Salisbury Township, 6:29 p.m. Sept. 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was near mile marker 55.4 on I-78, which was flooded at the time of the accident. The vehicle hydroplaned into the barrier. According to authorities, drainage grates were clogged in the area of the crash. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation responded to the scene and “corrected the issue,” according to a news release from state police. The vehicle was towed from the crash scene.
DUI
A 54-year-old male, of Coopersburg, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop for speeding along Interstate 78 East, Salisbury Township, 12:10 a.m. Sept. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver allegedly was traveling at 110 mph in a 55 mph zone at the time of the traffic stop, according to authorities.
