The Upper Lehigh Lions Club will host a basket social at the Schnecksville Fire Company pavilion on Oct. 24.

Doors open 5:30 p.m. Drawing is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Food and beverages will be available, and there will be a 50/50 drawing.

Proceeds will benefit people in our community who need help.

The Upper Lehigh Lions donate to local food banks, Meals on Wheels, area fire companies, Northern Valley EMS, and various programs for those who have vision loss.

The club also contributes to disaster assistance at the national and international levels.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will present its annual craft fair and quilt show 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 14.

The event offers handmade crafts and quilts, refreshments, baked goods, a pick-a-tic drawing, and a raffle.

Quilts will be displayed over the church pews to be viewed for pleasure or purchase.

The crafts make great gifts for any occasion.

Bring your family and friends to enjoy homemade food for lunch.

There’s fun for everyone.

Trunk or Treat will be staged at Union United Church of Christ, Neffs and Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, 1-3 p.m. Oct. 21.

Children are invited to visit each location and walk between the two for a safe, family friendly Halloween celebration.

Vehicles will be decorated, and there will be candy and other treats for kids.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, is taking orders for apple dumplings.

Call Julie at 610-262-7749 to order dumplings by Oct. 23.

Pickup is Oct. 29 or 30.

The Schnecksville Fire Company will have a car and truck show from noon-5 p.m. Oct. 14.

The event will feature fire trucks, tow trucks, 4x4s, Jeeps, muscle cars, imports and exotics.

Admission is free to the public.
