Lower Macungie Emergency Services receive donation from Lutron

At the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting Oct. 7, Andy Hines, director of facilities, Lutron Electronics, presented a $1,000 donation toward Lower Macungie Emergency Services.

There was consideration for candidates for the planning commission. It was determined to advertise and request new candidates due to out-of-date applications.

Minutes from the last two board of commissioners meetings were approved as well as the bill list. Further details on each are available on the Lower Macungie website, lowermac.com.

The board approved the advertising of the ordinance to amend the official map. Also to be advertised is the ordinance amending Chapter 27, Part 19 which refers to “Environmental and Historic Protection and Preservation.” To be included is Appendix 27 A for “Flood Hazard Area Regulations and Part 4 “Technical Provisions.”

Two more intersections for the traffic signal application were put before the board for consideration. These include Cedar Crest Boulevard and Riverbend Road and Cedar Crest Boulevard and Lower Macungie Road. This was approved.

Budget workshops will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 12 and 16 and, if needed, Oct. 23.

There was an executive session after the workshop Sept. 25 regarding litigation.
