EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom’s name is Kris, my dad’s name is Iain and my brother’s name is Thure.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. Social studies. I have always had the most amazing teachers in all of those classes.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. In eighth grade, I received the NJHS Citizenship Award. In ninth grade, I received an Academic Achievement Award. In 10th grade, I received the Excellence in American Studies II and Excellence in Chemistry awards. In 11th grade, I received the Engaged Citizenship in Science and the EHS Spirit Award.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I am involved in tournament and school softball, I help to manage the Emmaus High School field hockey team, I am a part of National Honor Society, Key Club, the school’s television program (ETV) and Hornet Ambassador, I am one of the two Class of 2024 Historians and I worked this summer at TG Countryside. Because of all of these, I have made some of the most meaningful friendships and connections of my whole life. I have been able to meet people I never would have otherwise.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Keeping all the parts of my life balanced. I know it is very important to be a rounded person.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I want to get into college and pursue something I am passionate about.

Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?

A. I hope to be like my parents when I grow up. My mom is the strongest and most caring person I know. The biggest compliment is when people tell me I am just like my mom. My dad is the kind of person who can walk up to someone working at a cash register and start up a full conversation with them. His sense of humor and his affability are definitely traits I would love to have.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered for my kindness.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice is that you will get out of something exactly what you put into it. If you really want something, you have to put in the effort, and it will show.
