Hokendauqua: Harvest Fest set for Oct. 14 at Faith
Pink Pumpkins Coins 4 Chemo will hold a Bags and Bucks bingo during Harvest Fest, planned for Oct. 14 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road.
Harvest Fest will run 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and bingo starts noon.
In addition to the festival and bingo, there will also be a basket raffle, craft market fair, pumpkin patch, food and more.
Tickets for bingo are cheaper when purchased in advance and include 20 games. There will be designer purses and cash prizes.

Whitehall Historical Preservation Society announced the dates for open houses at Helfrich Springs Grist Mill and Peter Grim Homestead, 501 and 506 Mickley Road, respectively. Open houses are scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.

Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 Seventh St., will hold a Halloween-themed event for kids through sixth grade Oct. 18.
The church welcomes community children to see what AWANA and the youth group are like 6:30-7:15 p.m. The group is for ages 3 years old to those in 12th grade.
A trunk or treat will follow. There will be candy, baked goods and cider.

First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St., will participate in an event Oct. 21 to commemorate the addition of the Hokendauqua Thomas Iron Company Town Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. There will be a sign unveiled that indicates when one has reached the historic district on Front Street.
“Since our church is located within the historic district, a sign will be placed along the church property,” the church newsletter states.
There will be a gathering 9 a.m. at the church, followed by a ceremony 9:30 a.m. to unveil the sign. A walking tour will then take place to view historic homes.
American Legion Jones-Quigg Post 739, 3739 American Legion Drive, will host a luncheon 11 a.m. A lecture by local historian Karen Gensey will follow.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church will be holding a trunk-or-treat event Oct. 28. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., come meet Waddley, Just Chill Creamery’s penguin, and enjoy activities such as cupcake decorating, Mummy Bowl game and a Halloween-themed basket raffle.
