On Oct. 12, Northampton Area Middle School will hold Soups and Scoops, an Empty Bowls event, 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event is a fundraiser to help the hungry.

Enjoy soups and ice cream in a handcrafted bowl. There will also be basket raffles, games and activities.

Tickets can be purchased at the event.

On Oct. 13, Moore Elementary School students and staff are invited to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Then, on Oct. 20, Moore Elementary will celebrate Kindness Day with several activities planned for students.

Moore will hold trunk or treat 6 p.m. Oct. 13.

Moore’s PTA group will next meet 6-8 p.m. Oct. 19.

Oct. 31 is the end of the marking period for secondary grades. Secondary report cards will be available Nov. 10 on Sapphire Community Portal.

Fall picture retake days are set for Nov. 1 at Lehigh Elementary School; Nov. 2 at Moore; Nov. 3 at George Wolf Elementary School; and Nov. 9 at the Siegfried and Franklin buildings.

These days are for students who missed their original picture days.

NASD is in need of substitute teachers, instructional assistants, custodians, health room assistants, nurses, hall monitors and security guards. For teaching positions, if you have a teaching degree or a bachelor’s degree in any area, you can be of service to NASD students.
