Celebrating season of fall

The North Catasauqua Betterment Committee celebrated autumn in small Town USA with the 16th annual Best of North Catasauqua Autumnfest and car show. The event was held Oct. 8 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

The event featured dozens of unique vehicles, street vendors, a food court, police and fire department displays, games, live music, activities for kids and more. The Carbon Model Railroad Society had a display presenting the traveling caboose and operating layout.

Attendees traveled down Grove Street, visiting a variety of vendors selling goods such as holiday decor, tumbler cups, tea towels, clothing, handmade items and more. In addition to organizing the entire event, the North Catasauqua Betterment Committee sponsored its own basket raffle.

The Catasauqua Area School District music department was on hand with baked goods and information about the musical opportunities within the district.

The baseball field showcased a number of vehicles from various decades.

A food court alongside the field offered choices such as barbecue, french fries, tacos, popcorn and more.

A live musical performance from Flirtin’ with the Mob drew in a large crowd and welcomed a dance party on the basketball courts. The musical performance was sponsored by Brubaker Funeral Home.

Inside the playground area, children were seen playing and enjoying the bounce houses and other activities, such as pony rides, a ventriloquist, balloon twisting, crafts and more. The police department offered child IDs and fingerprinting.

The event was well attended, with festivalgoers enjoying the food, live music, car show and community camaraderie.
