Zen zones established

Northampton Community College and community partner, Preventive Measures mental and home health leader, are developing Zen Zones on Bethlehem, Monroe, and the Fowler Family Southside Center Campuses. The accessible low sensory areas offer students, faculty and staff a space to regroup, practice guided breathing, mindfulness in the moment or to learn skills about coping with stress.

The zones incorporate sensory activities, wellness books and materials and more.

Wellness events and support groups will be held in partnership with community and campus organizations such as National Alliance for Mental Illness, NCC’s counseling dSepartment and ASctive Minds student mental health alliance. Individuals will also have access to information on NCC and community mental health resources.
