The Parkland High School field hockey team had a lighter week last week with just two games, as one was postponed on the weekend due to weather.
The Trojans won both Eastern Pennsylvania Conference games to remain unbeaten during the 2023 regular season.
To begin the week last week, Parkland shutout Pocono Mountain East 5-0 at home last Monday, September 18.
The Trojans followed that up two nights later with a road victory at Whitehall, 6-1, on Wednesday night. The nonconference game at Southern Lehigh, originally scheduled to be played this past Saturday was postponed to Tuesday of this week due to the rain last weekend.
Statistics for the 5-0 win over the Cardinals last week were not made available at the time of print.
Against the Zephyrs, Elaina Fragassi scored on a pass from Aurora Gery to open up the scoring in the game.
Whitehall tied it at 1-1 on a goal by Kerigan Dreisbach, but the Trojans answered by netting five straight to take control of the game. Jordan Brunnabend and Lila Temchatin both recorded two goals and Gery rounded out the scoring with one of her own. Rosella Birns contributed two assists in the win.
Through eight games thus far, Parkland is 7-0-1 both overall and in the conference.
The Trojans have a very busy week as they opened this week with back-to-back nonconference games in back-to-back days, as they took on Twin Valley on Monday and then the Spartans on Tuesday, both on the road.
They then host Pleasant Valley on Thursday night, play at Northampton on Friday afternoon and then conclude the week by welcoming Moravian Academy on Saturday in nonconference action.
