Stanley J. Wessner

Stanley J. Wessner, 87, of Kutztown, died Sept. 29, 2023, in Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Kutztown.

The loving husband of Eleanor M. (Billig) Wessner, the couple shared more than 59 years of marriage.

Born in Greenwich Township, he was a son of the late Jonathan and Mabel (Burkert) Wessner.

A 1953 graduate of Kutztown High School, he was a self-employed farmer in Greenwich Township.

He also worked for the former Wenton Shoe Co., Kutztown, for 30 years and later worked for the former Martin’s Dairy Farm, Moselem Springs.

A member of the Lutheran congregation of Jerusalem “Red” Church, Kempton, he was also a member of the Kutztown Fire Co. and a former member and officer of both the Kutztown and Kempton rod and gun clubs.

He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ricky S. (Rebecca) Wessner of Kutztown; grandchildren Kyle (Alyssa) Wessner and Neil Wessner; and great-granddaughter Felicity Wessner.

He was predeceased by his siblings Edgar Wessner, Mary Conrad and Anna Henry.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Oct. 5 in Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli.

Calling hour begins 10 a.m.

Interment following the service in Jerusalem “Red” Church Cemetery, Kempton.

The Rev. Robert Billig Jr. will officiate.
