Frank J. Schlosser

Frank J. Schlosser, 84, of Emmaus died Sept. 16, 2023. He was the husband of the late Barbara Ann (Lizun) Schlosser for 59 years.

His home served as a gathering space and sanctuary for family, friends and an occasional stranger. Their garden was abundant and their table open to all. He claimed his wife was the brains behind the operation and that he was the brawn.

He sometimes worked multiple jobs to make all the travel adventures he took his family on possible. He was proud of his career at Martin Guitar where he managed their printing department for over 30 years.

He was an avid bird watcher, chicken wrangler and an accomplished handyman who could build things for any purpose. He was fond of his red truck, an occasional practical joke and winning at pinochle.

He was forever grateful to get to stick around long enough to watch many of his grandchildren graduate, marry and have children of their own. He was a listening ear and a mentor for both generations.

After his wife died he immersed himself deeper into the volunteer work he and his wife began at Meals on Wheels in 2005. He was very proud to be honored in 2018 by the organization as an Unsung Hero for the over 1,400 hours he contributed. He poured his love into his family and his beloved cat Dolly who gave him great comfort.

He is survived by children, Karren Ford, of California, Frank, of California, Kathy Mintzer, of Pennsylvania, Rick, of Pennsylvania, David, of California; 11 grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Emmaus.
