EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I’m in my senior year at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My parents’ names are Michael and Nicole. I have an older brother named Gavin and a golden doodle named Cali.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is economics because the logic of it is so satisfying. Everything in economics follows specific laws and rules so there’s never any confusion. The economics teacher was also one of my favorites and contributed to my love for the subject.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I was second in the state for my competitive event in the Future Business Leaders of America Club. I also achieved Principal’s Honor Roll. I am a member of National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I play tennis for the high school, am a member of Mudd Club (an art club that deals with clay), a Hornet Ambassador and hold leadership positions in FBLA and the Class of 2024 officers. Being vice president of the class had a significant impact on my high school experience. A lot more goes into it than it seems. There were times when the additional workload from being an officer and participating in multiple activities coupled with schoolwork became overwhelming, but I had to push through. A busy schedule made my experience more hectic and stressful, but equally rewarding.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge was finding a balance between school, activities and personal time. I had to learn how to manage my time to make the best of all three.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I’d like to be a lawyer, so my next goal is to go to college for prelaw.

Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?

A. If I could emulate anyone, I hope to emulate Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She always fought for what she believed in. She became as famous as she was through hard work and determination. She never backed down and became a symbol of what women can achieve.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I’d like to be remembered as someone reliable that people can count on.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Get involved. Consistently trying your best in everything you do will yield results and others will recognize the effort you put forward.
