To the Editor:
In the elections in 2019 and 2021, we chose a new direction for the township.
We elected commissioners who pledged to stand for a platform that was leadership focused, fostered balanced growth, enhanced transparency and public access to information, conformed to the requirements of annual audits and budget reviews to ensure tax money was spent wisely and correctly, and supported our first responders with a focus on keeping us safe.
So, did they deliver?
The Comprehensive Plan was completed and incorporated the input from township residents to balance growth and quality of life, township meetings are now available electronically so residents can participate, all past due audits were completed and filed which improves the township credit worthiness, emergency management and public safety operations are well-resourced, and all residents are treated equally with regard to ordinances and codes.
A new township manager is in place and departmental processes are improved.
Competent leadership is the foundation for progress … It got us to where we are today.
Diane Kelly, Jacob Roth, and Chris Peischl are committed to continue the work begun in 2019 to make South Whitehall Township a special place to live.
Vote on Nov. 7.
