K-Kid Roundup: Boys soccer ties EHS 0-0

The Northampton boys soccer team played an always-tough Emmaus squad on Monday. Both teams entered the contest with one loss on the season, along with stellar defenses.

Well, the defense shined through in the game for both teams as they played to a 0-0, double OT tie.

Emmaus had 13 shots on goal to the Kids 10. Ethan Schrampf saved four and Hornet keeper Colin Wilson stopped five.

Much of the talk around the NHS boys has been the scoring of Jackson Vajda and Delali Tsome this year, but head coach Chris Bastidas is also appreciative of his keeper.

“Obviously Jackson Vajda and Delali Tsome have been playing well, but Ethan Schrampf has been making great saves in the net and Mason Haupt has been defending well at left defender while also getting assists.”

Vajda has 23 goals and six assists this season while Tsome has scored 11 times adding 10 assists.

Haupt doesn’t have a goal but has nine assists on the season.

Brody Eisenhart has four goals and five assists and Chase Nederostek has four goals and four assists. Sebastian Mello has added two goals and four helpers.

The boys recently blanked Becahi 6-0, erupting for five goals in the second half.

Tsome and Nederostek each scored twice and Eisenhart and Vajda scored once.

Schrampf made three saves in the win.

The Kids broke a 1-1 tie at the half against Pocono Mountain East and won 3-1.

Vajda scored in the first before East tied it on an Owen Smith goal.

Eisenhart and Luca Manino would scored in the second half to secure the win.

NHS defeated Central Catholic 6-1, again scoring five times in the second half to extend a 1-0, halftime lead.

Vajda scored five times in the game and Tsome added one goal. Haupt picked up three assists in the win. One of Vajda’s goals was a penalty kick.

Schrampf stopped four in the win.

On Thursday, Sept. 21, the NHS cross country teams celebrated senior day.

The kids were honored after a middle school home race because the high school team does not have a home meet this year.

Northampton’s six seniors were: Braeden Lower, Deric Fritzges, Nate Lopez, Krystian Komlani, Abby Enstrom, and Nikita Yessen.

They are pictured below.

The team’s next meet is Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Allentown Parkway against Allen and Parkland.
