Frances A. Shimer, 80, of South Whitehall Township, died Sept. 20, 2023, while under hospice care at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late Charles L. Shimer.

Born Jan. 19, 1943, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Angeline (Frisoli) Riccaboni.

The office manager for Jerome M. Grossinger, DDS, Allentown for more than 30 years, she retired in 2012.

Her survivors include a daughter Lori A. Rea of Allentown; grandson, David C. Rea of Coopersburg; sister Pauline Valentine of Bethlehem; and nephew James Ruth and his wife, Sue, of Zionsville.

She was predeceased by her sister, Bernadette Ruth, and niece Patricia Ruth.

Her service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public calling hours.
