The first regular season Colonial League cross country meets were held last week.
Salisbury hosted a meet Tuesday and traveled to Catasauqua on Thursday.
Salisbury’s boys team picked up two wins, while the girls team doesn’t have enough runners to score as a team but did have a top-five individual finisher in one of last week’s races.
Emily Batten took third place overall Thursday, finishing behind Southern Lehigh’s Caelee Lenhart and Celia Knoedler and one place ahead of Northwestern Lehigh’s Sophia Cornell. Falcon teammate Soledad Lausch took 41st place in the girls race.
In Thursday’s boys race, Emerson Juhasz led Salisbury with a 19th-place finish, followed by teammates Cameron Kubinsky (21st), Gregory Tenzer (22nd), Joshua Orach (43rd) and Joseph Tiao (49th). Nolan Grejda (52nd) and Rafael Carpo (63rd) also competed at the meet.
The Falcons beat Catasauqua and Northern Lehigh in the meet. They were one-point from a third win as they fell to Palmerton 27-28.
In Tuesday’s meet, the Salisbury boys team went 0-4 against Moravian Academy, Notre Dame (Green Pond), Palisades and Saucon Valley.
Salisbury’s top three boys ran in a tight pack twice last week. Kubinsky led the Falcons with a 21st-place finish, followed by Juhasz (22nd), Tenzer (26th), Carpo (50th) and Orach (56th). Grejda (63rd), Tiao (69th) and Riley Nemitz (85th) also competed at the meet.
In the girls meet last Tuesday, Batten finished 12th and Lausch was 59th.
