Sheckler Elementary School is partnering with Garden City Greenhouse, North Catasauqua, for the first fundraiser of the 2023-24 academic year. Students will be selling $15 gift cards.

Orders and money are due Oct. 4, and gift cards will be distributed Oct. 10.

All proceeds will benefit the Home and School Association, which helps with school field trips, equipment and classroom enrichment.

There will be no school Columbus Day, Oct. 9.

Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education will be meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 10 in the board room at 201 N. 14th St.

There will be a Home and School Association meeting 6-7 p.m. Oct. 12.

Food service substitute positions for grades kindergarten through 12 are available. There is flexibility in the schedule with daytime and weekday hours.

Clearances are required. The pay rate is $12.10 per hour.

Sheckler Elementary offers a student assistance program for students experiencing academic, behavioral, attendance or emotional difficulties.

Students can be referred into the program by parents/guardians, school personnel or self-referrals.
