Plans being made for Homecoming Parade

Salisbury High School students have been back in the building for just under a month of the 2023-2024 school year. Not only are students ready to learn, but they are also excited for their new classes and what’s to come. Here is what has been happening:

SHS held an open house Sept. 21. National Honor Society members volunteered at the event. Students were asked to announce and help direct parents to their students’ classrooms to meet the teachers.

The boys soccer team held its senior night game Sept. 26. This under the lights game recognized all senior players and their achievements up until this point. The team played against the pirates of Palisades and are looking forward to the remainder of their season.

Senior Class Advisory members designed and began to sell 2024 Homecoming T-shirts. T-shirt sales end Sept. 27 and can be purchased through an advisory member. This year’s theme is “Under the Stars” and members are beginning to plan their decorations for the dance in late October.

Student Government Advisory is beginning to meet this year, under a new adviser, to start planning the annual Homecoming Parade to be held Oct. 26. Students will not only try to improve this year’s parade, but invite community groups and many others to participate. The parade will also lead to a bonfire at SHS for all to attend.

Juniors and seniors at SHS have been given the opportunity this fall semester to take dual enrollment college classes. This grant is through Lehigh Carbon Community College and most upperclassmen took advantage of this.

These students are also hopeful they can take more classes during the spring semester later on this school year.
