New voices invited to join Emmaus Chorale

The Emmaus Chorale seeks additional voices for its Dec. 10 holiday concert.

Weekly rehearsals began 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at Faith Presbyterian Church. All voice parts are welcome.

This 30-member community choir, which is based in Emmaus, is open to participants throughout the Lehigh Valley. Auditions are not required. The repertoire spans classical and light choral music. There are membership dues.

The Emmaus Chorale welcomes new conductor, Donald Ryan who has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education, specializing in organ, from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. He also has an master’s degree, with an emphasis in choral conducting, from Florida State University. He taught music education at Whitehall Middle School for many years. He also has held several church choir/organist positions, including at First Presbyterian Church in Allentown. Currently he is organist/choir director at Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shoemakersville. He resides in Kutztown.
