James J. Raynock

James J. Raynock, 90, of Emmaus, died peacefully in his home Sept. 22, 2023. He was the husband of Patricia (Minsenberger) Raynock. Born in Weatherly, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Anna (Hallahan) Raynock.

He graduated from Weatherly High School, Class of 1951, and attended Bethlehem Business College and King’s College.

He was employed for the past 25 years at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes as a special assistant and right-hand man to the president.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was SHAPE HQ Paris Soldier of the Year in 1955.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Emmaus, where he served as a lector and an extraordinary minister. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was a 50+ year retreatant at the Malvern Retreat House.

He is survived by his wife; son, J.P. and his wife, Sarah, of Emmaus; daughter, Abigail Richard and her husband, Charles, of Lafayette, La.; grandchildren, Catherine and James F., Simon and Cecelia Richard; sisters, Mary Ann Marshall and her husband, Randy, Peggy, Carol Karotko and her husband, Robert. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph F., Frank J., John J.; sister, Martha.

Contributions may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church or to the Malvern Retreat House, 315 S. Warren Ave., Malvern, 19355.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 27 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth St., Emmaus, Viewing will be held 9 to 10:15 a.m. Sept. 27 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus.
