EHS names student of the week
Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I am in my senior year at Emmaus High School.
Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. My parents are Griffin and Stacy Daly; I have a younger sister, Ella and a cat named Monkey.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. I have enjoyed my math classes in school so far. I have met lots of friends in those classes and they have always been so challenging. The teachers do a great job of allowing you to think and solve problems on your own without giving you the answer.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I am a member of Spanish Honor Society. I have received varsity letters for both soccer and track. I also have received Principal’s Honor Roll every school year so far.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?
A. I play soccer and run track for the high school. Both of these sports have been amazing experiences so far and I have enjoyed meeting new people and also forming friendships. All of the coaches have been helpful and determined to help me succeed. I also play soccer outside of school and am able to make friends outside of the district because of it. I also work at Albright’s Hardware.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. I think my biggest challenge to date has been trying to balance school and sports. Often times I find myself struggling to complete all of my assignments when I am so busy with sports every day. I have been able to do everything so far but it takes a lot of time management.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. After high school, I plan on going to college for chemical engineering. I would also like to minor in computer science.
Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?
A. I hope to emulate my mom. She has so much on her plate and is able to do everything in a timely manner. She is inspiring to me and almost never appears stressed, even when things seem to be out of her control. She’s worked hard to teach us how to handle our stress.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. At Emmaus, I would like to be remembered as a good person and a good student. I make an effort to be kind and I want to help others feel better about themselves if they are going through a tough time.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. I would advise people to make friends in all of their classes. Even if you don’t know anyone, do your best to be friendly to everyone around you because it makes the year much more enjoyable.
