PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSH The Allentown Police Department sends two K-9 units to the South Pike Avenue area of Salisbury township Sept. 21 to help search for a driver who was pulled over for traveling 78 mph in a posted 40 mph traffic zone. The driver fled from officers after he was stopped for a speeding violation. Upper Saucon Township and Emmaus police departments also sent officers to assist in the search for the driver who abandoned his vehicle after a short pursuit by Salisbury patrol officers assigned to an aggressive driving detail. The driver was identified and later charged with fleeing a police officer, receiving stolen property and a drug charge.
