The deadline to order a Zephyr Elementary School class T-shirt is Sept. 29.

There will be several occasions during the year when students will wear them. Each class will wear a specific color, which will help keep students safe, so they can be easily organized and identifiable during field trips, assemblies and schoolwide activities.

Zephyr Elementary staff will keep the shirts in your child’s classroom during the year for safekeeping. At the end of the year, students will have an opportunity to get signatures from classmates and teachers and will be permitted to take their shirts home with them.

Zephyr’s band teacher, Mr. Miller, is looking for musicians! Check out the Zephyr band website for details about learning an instrument this year.

Students will be watching an informational video about the different instrument options in their homerooms.

Join Zephyr Nation in promoting school spirit by dressing in our Friday themes. Here are some football themes for the 2023-24 academic year: Sept. 29, camo; Oct. 6, maroon and gold (homecoming/senior night); Oct. 14, pink out; Oct. 19, holiday; Oct. 27, neon/construction (Cement Belt challenge).

Homecoming is approaching! The annual celebration will be held the week of Oct. 2. Each day will have a dress-down theme.

On Oct. 6, the Whitehall High School Zephyrs football team will play their last home game of the season against Nazareth Area High School. Seniors will be honored at this game.

The homecoming dance will be held 6-9 p.m. Oct. 7, with a paradise luau theme. Only WHS students may attend the dance.

Tickets will be sold, at a price of $20, at all lunches through Oct. 5. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Mark your calendar, and get your costumes ready. From Oct. 23 to Oct. 27, Zephyr students will learn to stand up against destructive decisions and celebrate the end of the week with a costume parade at Zephyr Stadium Oct. 26. Parents/guardians are invited to help us celebrate by spectating from the bleachers.

Do you like cheering? Learn cheers and a dance to perform at the youth night basketball game.

Space is limited, so see the Zephyr Buzz, where you scan the QR provided or mail in your registration form before Oct. 28.

Students may only be excused by a parent 16 days per school year (eight per semester). Medical excuses are required for any absences that exceed 16 days in a school year.

Additionally, any absence not excused within three days will be considered unexcused. Multiple unexcused absences are considered to be unlawful and may result in legal consequences.
