Catasauqua: Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop sale to end soon
The half-price sale on everything in the store at Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is set to end Sept. 30.
Then, there will be a bag sale Oct. 2-7. This includes all items in the store, unless otherwise marked.
The shop will be closed Oct. 9-11 for cleaning and change-over. The shop reopens Oct. 12 with all new clothing for fall and winter.
Regular hours at the shop are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The shop is happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing and household items during store hours.
Proceeds are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Gourds and succulents are appropriate for the first fall meeting of Catasauqua Garden Club, which will be held 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Melisa Sterner will be the presenter.
Club members will provide entries for artistic and horticultural judging.
Garden-friendly visitors are always welcome.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Oct. 14, with seatings 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The menu includes spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, rolls with butter, beverage and dessert.
Cost is by donation; all proceeds benefit Love Ran Red Foundation, which is a Christian-based, nonprofit foundation dedicated to helping adults with autism spectrum disorder and autism.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., will hold its seventh annual Oktoberfest, set for 5-9 p.m. Oct. 21 on the parish grounds. The event will start with a special German Mass with a polka flair by Robbie Lawrence on accordion 4 p.m. in the church.
Following Mass, come to the parish center for homemade foods, including pulled pork, schnitzel, spatzle and more.
The bier garten will remain in the parking lot with fire pits, weather permitting. There will also be a variety of Oktoberfest beers, as well as your everyday favorites.
