Celtic Classic Preview Night: The Glengarry Bhoys Duo, 7 p.m. Sept. 21, Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem. Graham Wright and D’Arcy Furniss take to the Godfrey’s stage on the eve of Bethlehem’s Celtic Classic. From a small Scots-French-Canadian enclave in Eastern Ontario, the Celtic stompers perform a hybrid of Canadian Highland Scots and French Canadian musical idioms. The Glengarry Bhoys was founded in 1998. Graham Wright, lead vocals, guitars, tin whistle, is one of the original members. The 36th Annual Celtic Classic, Sept. 22-24, is presented by Celtic Cultural Alliance in Bethlehem. Grace Potter, with Ghost Funk Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Grace Evelyn Potter, born June 20, 1983, in Waitsfield, Vt., is a singer-songwriter-musician. She has released five solo albums, “Red Shoe Rebel” (2002), “Original Soul” (2004), “Midnight” (2015), “Daylight” (2019) and “Mother Road” (2023). She released four studio albums with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, a band she formed in 2002 and which disbanded in 2015, including “Nothing but the Water” (2005), “This Is Somewhere” (2007), “Grace Potter and the Nocturnals” (2010) and “The Lion the Beast the Beat” (2012). “Mother Road,” inspired by Potter’s cross-country United States road trip on Route 66, is a follow-up to “Daylight,” a Grammy Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance nominee. “Mother Road” is named for a line from “The Grapes of Wrath,” in which author John Steinbeck refers to Route 66 as the “the mother of all roads … the road of flight.” The album was produced by her husband Eric Valentine, a multi-instrumentalist who’s worked with Queens of the Stone Age, Slash and Weezer.
