Catasauqua: Salem UCC to hold flea market

Salem United Church of Christ, 615 Third St., will be having a flea market and basket raffle from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23.

All flea market sales are by donation.

The event includes the basket raffle, food, a bake sale, pickled beets sale and a book sale on the main floor. There will be loads of flea market treasures in the basement.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., West Catasauqua, will be holding its next bingo Sept. 24. The start time will be 1 p.m., with doors opening noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc.

There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry.

Catty Seniors Plus will next meet Sept. 27 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.

The doors open noon, and the meeting will begin 1 p.m. The speaker this month is Ed Duborg from Amada Senior Care.

Coffee and cake will be served. Bingo will follow.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is having a half-price sale on everything in the store through September.

There will be a bag sale Oct. 2-7 including all items in the store, unless otherwise marked.

The shop will be closed Oct. 9-11. It will reopen Oct. 12 with fall and winter clothing.

Regular hours at the shop are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The shop accepts donations of good, used, clean clothing and household items. Proceeds are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.
