ATLAS CEMENT HISTORY: “The History of Cement Production at the Atlas Portland Cement Co.” is the next presentation of the Hi Neighbors: Hot Topics for Inquisitive Adults speaker series. Offered by First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, the program will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, at the church building, 2344 Center St., Bethlehem, and is open to all (no fee or pre-registration). Each session begins at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall with a social time. The presentation begins at 10 a.m.

TEACHERS’ NIGHT OUT: Area teachers are invited to enjoy an evening of light refreshments and history with favorite local cultural organizations. Sept. 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m., presented by Passport to History partners and hosted by the National Museum of Industrial History.
Teachers can earn continuing education credits, view presentations and hands-on demonstrations, and browse resources from partner sites.
Teachers will meet educators and staff from numerous Lehigh Valley historic sites. There is a fee and preregistration is required at TNO2023.eventbrite.com.
FORGED BY FIRE: Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society explores the history of firefighting in Northampton County with its upcoming exhibition, Forged by Fire: the Heroism, Honor, and History of Firefighting, opening Sept. 21 at the Sigal Museum in Easton.
Forged by Fire opens to the public tomorrow, Sept. 21, with a private Members’ Reception from 4-6 p.m.

STEAK & BURGER DINNER: The Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem will hold its 2023 Steak & Burger Celebration Oct. 20, at WindCreek Bethlehem. A major fundraiser for the youth-serving nonprofit organization, it will be highlighted by honoree Mayor J. William Reynolds, and guest speaker, former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook.
Hanna O’Reilly of WFMZ will be the emcee for the evening.
FINE ARTS COUNCIL: The Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission presents a Curated Invitational Exhibition, “The Art of Watercolor” that explores the diversity of this media and celebrates the unique vision of this group of skilled watercolorists at the Bethlehem Town Hall Rotunda Gallery from Oct. 1 to Nov. 8. The exhibition features the work of William Christine, Arlene Ginsburg, Sook H. Kim, Anne Landis, James Maria and Frank Wengen.
There will be an opening reception on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Rotunda Gallery is located at 10 E. Church St. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
STEELWORKERS REUNION: The National Museum of Industrial History’s annual exploration of all things steel returns this Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Guests can experience live demonstrations, hands-on youth activities and expert lectures, or catch up with old friends at the Steelworkers Reunion. Ongoing exhibits are Faces of Steel: Steel Weekend, honoring the men and women who worked at Bethlehem Steel with a photo gallery shared via the outdoor screens at PBS39. The community is invited to submit photos of family members and friends who worked at Bethlehem Steel digitally at nmih.org/facesofsteel.
OKTOBERFEST RACES: Runners and Weiner dogs rejoice – Both the Yuengling Oktoberfest 5K and Weiner Dog Races return to ArtsQuest this fall. The Oktoberfest 5K will take place Sunday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. and the Weiner Dog Races will be held on the Saturdays and Sundays of Oktoberfest, (Oct. 7, 8, 14 and 15). DEMENTIA SUPPORT GROUP: The Division of Area Agency on Aging hosts a Dementia Support Group at the Dept. of Human Services building at 2801 Emrick Blvd. Bethlehem, on the third Thursday of each month from 5:30–6:30 p.m.

LIVE WELL, BE WELL: Northampton County is holding an inaugural Live Well Be Well community empowerment event Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Easton Area MS. The Northampton County Drug & Alcohol and Suicide Prevention Task Force curated an array of activities, keynote speakers, including Kevin Hines and Westley Morris, and opportunities to receive recovery and mental health resources.
All residents of Northampton County are welcome to attend this free event, which is open to all age groups. There will be recovery and mental health resource booths available for those seeking support or information.
This event will be held rain or shine.
