LCCC: Poetry talk

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) celebrates “Hispanic Heritage Month” with a performance by Colombian-American poet Carlos Andre´s Go´mez, 1 p.m. Sept. 20, Community Services Center ballroom, Schnecksville campus.

Admission is free and open to the public. There will be a reception and book-signing with Go´mez.

Gómez is author of “Hijito,” for which he was awarded the International Book Award for Poetry in 2020, and the coming-of-age memoir “Man Up: Reimagining Modern Manhood,” released by Penguin Random House in 2012. His most recent book, “Fractures,” was selected by Pulitzer Prize-winning former U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey as the winner of the Felix Pollak Prize in Poetry.

He has been featured on NPR, TEDx and Central Park SummerStage.
