Derek Anthony Oliver, 71, of East Stroudsburg, died Sept. 3, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Margaret J. (Burkhard) Oliver for 52 years.

Born in Phillipsburg, N.J., he was a son of the late Mildred O. Reed.

He was a massage therapist for the past 30 years and was a massage therapy instructor. He was a corrections officer at Monroe County Correctional Facility.

He was a member of Stroudsburg Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he was an elder and a pioneer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nina Marano of Texas, Simon with Alicia of Oregon, Jotham with Julie of Saylorsburg, Caleb with Jana of Northampton and Ephraim of Palmerton; six grandchildren, Kyra, Kolby, Anthony, Zavaya, Cyrus and Kayden; and five siblings, Charles Reed, Michael Reed, Matthew Reed, Elizabeth Marshall and Olga Reed.

He was predeceased by a brother, George Reed.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at Poconos Park at the Lake House, 265 Tom Ridge Drive, Bushkill. Contact the family to join via Zoom.
